Directions
Print Recipe- Begin by chopping the garlic, shallot, bell pepper, and bok choy if not already done.
- Heat a large pot over medium-high heat and add avocado oil. Sauté the garlic, shallot, and ginger for about 2 minutes.
- Pour in the broth, add the bell pepper, kombu, and bok choy, then simmer for 5 minutes until the veggies become tender.
- In a separate bowl, mix miso paste with ¼ cup water. Add the miso mixture and sesame oil to the soup, then simmer for an additional 3 to 5 minutes.
- Introduce the whole cod fillets to the soup. Cover with a lid and allow the broth and fish to braise for 5-10 minutes on low simmer until the fish is flaky and just cooked through.
- While the fish is cooking, chop the green onions, cilantro, and lime if not already done.
- Remove the kombu piece and add lime juice to the soup. Break up the cod into small chunks.
- Serve this umami-packed soup in bowls, topped with green onions, cilantro, and sesame seeds for a delightful and flavorful experience.
